UK Pound Struggles in Currency Trading

Sterling volatile in forex tradingThe UK pound is struggling in currency trading on the FX market today, even though CPI data is coming in strong. The sterling remains volatile in forex trading against the US dollar, and as a result is also bring the euro down against the greenback.

More economic data is expected this week out of Britain, and there are worries that contraction may be seen, notwithstanding the positive data so far.

UK Pound Struggles in Currency Trading

Sterling down on in forex tradingOne Friday, the UK pound slipped below the $2 mark in currency trading on the FX market. This morning the sterling is struggling in forex trading against the US dollar as the BOE considers lowering its rate, due to sluggish economic growth. RTT News reports on the UK pound in currency trading:

The dollar advanced against the sterling Monday morning, rising to 1.9833 before levelling off. The dollar slipped below 2 buck mark on Friday, but has since rebounded amid expectations the Bank of England will lower its key lending rate on Thursday.
