Thsi morning, my trade hit T/P limit quickly and bounced back in teh opposite direction quickly. The platform wasn't fats enough to close the order...and I ended up loosing, because it never come back up again...I am frustrated...duid anyone else have similar experince? Is there another MT4 platform that you recommond?

I'm using FXM, which is also based on MT4 ... It happens from time to time as you said mostly when there are rapid movements ... It might be a MT4 problem in general ...

If you want to choose a good broker then there are so many things you have to keep in your mind.
When choosing a forex broker there are many factors to take into account.
- Trust
- Experience
- References from past clients
- Level of success
- Amount of advice to be given
- Convenience
- Amount of margin offered
- Speed
All of the above are of course important. In any financial transaction it is important to trust the broker you work with. This trust is garnered by the experience level the broker has. Of course there are some new brokers starting out who are quite trustworthy, but most people would rather work with an experienced broker. For that reason most new brokers attach themselves to a firm where they can be mentored and gain experience.

Try Forex-metal. They have Metatrader platform, the execution is very fast.

Slow downs can be caused by numerous reasons:

1. Your internet connection - this alone is usually reponsible for at least 30% of the slowdown (can get to 60% if you are using a crappy ADSL)

2. Computing time - this is solely caused by servers hosting Meta Trader - can differ from broker to broker - so its sounds that Alpari may need to buy new servers.

3. Data saturation - when there are major economic releases the broker's server is saturated, this again slows you down.

All above reasons can result in either slippage or requotes depending on your trading style.

In no means it is because of Meta trader, meta trader is just a software, and may slow things down if badly coded, but its not.

Execution time can range from 2 seconds to 100 miliseconds (client side internet connection lag not included) depeding whether you can afford a high level broker or not.

Hope that helps.

I agree with your Alpari sentiments... I have recently changed to
a platform that does not use a DD to pass on my trades.
It is my intention to also try FXCM and do the comparison.
I believe a wysiwig platform withouit human intervention has to be better.
At peak time and in busy markets the TP does seem a little slower.
Have now been with IBFX a week... does seem better!

Hope this helps.
Good trading
