The Dollar rose against a basket of major currencies on Wednesday after posting its biggest one-day slide in 13 years the previous day, as Democrat Barack Obama won the US presidential election. The Dollar was also helped by news that the Democrats expanded their majorities in both chambers of the US Congress in Tuesday's election to position themselves to quickly act on much of the US president-elect's ambitious agenda.

On Tuesday, the Dollar dropped posting its biggest one-day slide against the Euro since that currency's 1999 launch, as investors bet that global interest rate cuts and a credit market thaw would revive world growth.

Royal Bank of Australia surprised markets with a 75bp interest rate cut on Tuesday, while the European Central Bank and Bank of England are expected to reduce rates on Thursday. Analysts said the Euro was benefiting from the Aussie's comeback, with the prospect of further large interest rate cuts from the ECB and BoE seen as stimulant to their respectiv

By the way now we’re talking about approval or not for automakers and bank loans. It is a good opportunity for Obama but let’s take in mind the divergent opinions in that country. I think we must keep informed about US news, employment affects directly rises and lows in USD, one of the most traded currencies in this and almost every market. Adrian

What are you trying to say? Now the dollar is getting down these days, but when Obama get as real president with real job, the panorama is going to change? So do I have to wait until he get in the with house? Because if that your advice, you can tell me, Im in the market already and I need to know it.

I guess you should keep informed about US economy as I’ve seen that is the most traded currency and maybe you’ve orders going on. I’ve heard about cutting taxes for some people in that country, then it’ll be more dollars on people packets, at least that is the idea

it is true, actually Obama will start with a recovery plan adding lots of dollars on the economy. Anyway, it is also true consumer habits changed. Then, companies don’t need just money… challenges for everybody
