At what stage is a trend a trend?
When a series of how many higher lows are connected is it a trend as opposed to a retracement?
Does one measure a trend on a daily chart only? Am I right in thinking that a chart of shorter
duration can not show the trend of a pair, but rather only retracements?
Thank you

a trend on the hourly chart could be only a retracement on the daily chart.

It's very hard to find the exact point where a retracement becomes a trend. This is why I develop the indicator ForexTrend. It gives me a visual indication to confirm the trend.

Is the forex trend indicator available to us? Or does it remain a proprietary tool?
Thank you

Use the PRTime charts and they can alert you to exit a trade when a retracement takes place and then renter when it stops retracing. This helps me maximise pips from an intraday trade but you have to be at your PC throuighout the trade, available for each M15 period. It also helps me not lose too much when trends actually change
